Answer:- The little girl was out in the meadows.
2. How did she look?
Answer:- She was a “plump little girl” wearing clothes.
3. What did she feel about the bird? Why?
Answer:- She felt sorry for the bird and thought it must be very cold. She felt this way because the bird did not have any clothes on like she did.
4. How did the bird feel about the girl? Why?
Answer:- The bird thought she was a nice little girl but felt sorry for her, thinking she must be freezing. The bird felt this way because the girl did not have a single feather to keep her warm.
5. Was the bird feeling cold? Why?
Answer:- No, the bird was not actually cold because it was “sunshiny weather” and it naturally had feathers to keep warm. It only “shivered” out of sympathy while thinking about the little girl.
6. Was the girl feeling cold? Why?
Answer:- No, the girl was not actually cold because she was wearing clothes and it was a sunny day. Like the bird, she only shivered out of sympathy because she was worried about the bird.
